Eleven steps to efficient business

09 November 2012 | Friday
URE Club

«How to organize an effective team and to increase quality of the company management?» was the main discussion topic of the URE Club business breakfast which took place on November 8th in the Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv. The speaker of the event was Aleksey Kapusta, a certified consultant of the Adizes management methodology (USA).

The guests of the business breakfast together with the expert discussed the most common Ukrainian and international companies’ communication problems and the ways of their solving. Such problems, as a rule, are the results of the conflicts at the level of different departments and even officials.

According to the Adizes theory, it is possible to solve such problems or reduce their influence significantly by means of step-by-step change management strategy. This program includes 11 phases or concrete steps to the improvement of the communication in the company and increasing of its management efficiency. According to the expert the major feature of the Adizes strategy is the integration of the consultants into the process of changes.

The experts define the following phases of the Adizes Program: the diagnostics of the existent company’s problematic aspects; the work with the top-managers as well as with experts of organization; elaboration of the vision, mission and company’s values; the creation of the transparent financial reporting for management; structural reorganization; elaboration of the motivation system of the officers etc.

Answering the guests’ questions concerning the possibility of this theory implementation in the Ukrainian reality, the certified consultant of the Adizes management system Aleksey Kapusta admitted: «Actually, Ukraine isn’t an exception to the rule. There is, of course, a certain specificity of the business – the government control over the private sector, political risks and many others. We focus on the factors which come under our influence in a concrete country. We work with those sectors which we can influence. The experience of the Ukrainian Adizes Institute’s customers shows that the methodology is not only applicable but also resonates with local business traditions. Requirements formed in the post-Soviet business reality (absence of the business-schools in terms of European and American conception) make Adizes methodology and the consultants’ knowledge in high demand.

In fact, Adizes methodology is based on the principle that the organizations (like living organisms) have their life-cycle and demonstrate predictable and repeating behavioral development in the process of their growth and ageing. The company has a certain set of problems at each stage of its organizational development. The ultimate success or the fail of the organization is defined by the company management as well as by its changes which is necessary for a health transition from one stage to the other one.
