According to the research of international company A. T. Kearney «Global Retail Development Index 2010», which annually identifies the 30 most attractive countries for retail development, in 2010, Ukraine has not entered the Top 30, while in 2008 and 2009, occupied 17 place in the ranking. However, market players believe that this trend is temporary in nature, as Ukraine continues to be attractive for the development of retail business.
The successful opening of the first stage of Dream Town, and the second stage of Sky Mall (both - Kiev), Rivera Shopping City (Odessa), and King Cross Leopolis (Lviv) in 2009-2010 only fuelled the interest of market participants to the development of shopping real estate. Lack of quality retail spaces, an opportunity to reduce significantly investment risks by applying a professional approach to development of malls / shopping centres, which involves the leasing of much of the area before the start of construction, make this segment of real estate one of the most attractive for investments today in Ukraine.
In order to create a living dialogue between investors, developers and retailers Ukrainian Real Estate Club holds on the 7th of September 2010 a large-scale retail forum.
