Ukraine is on its way to energy independence

Ukrainian Government has developed a series of laws on energy efficiency to reduce energy consumption and establish new holistic energy market able to generate thousands of new jobs.

New laws are aimed at creating more comfortable conditions in hospitals, kindergartens, schools and other budgetary institutions through attraction of private investors to undertake a large-scale energy retrofit.

The laws shall come into force from October 2015, right at the beginning of the heating season. Local governments are entitled to make deals with private companies on energy conservation services. Due to the cost-effective measures all investments will be fully returned.   The business will get a motive force for developing and generating new workplaces, while the budgets of all levels can be additional sources of revenues.

The energy efficiency of public sphere requires 4.4 billion EUR of investments.

For today around 100 thousand public institutions require thermo-retrofitting, that will allow to save up to 200 million cubic meters of gas and other resources by 2020.
