Due to social and political developments in Ukraine the branch organization Ukrainian Real Estate Club informs you that the award ceremony The Ukrainian Property Awards 2013 has been moved from 13 December, as previously scheduled, to February 2014. The organizing committee takes into account the position of real estate players and that’s why can’t hold the event now for moral and ethical reasons.
The branch organization URE Club made a decision to move the Ukrainian Property Awards 2013 to February 2014 in connection with social and political situation in Ukraine as well as according to civic position of majority of our members – real estate players.
Sergey Gaydaychuk, President of Ukrainian Real Estate Club noted: «URE Club is the branch organization, market institution and therefore is the part of society. The professional organization can’t keep out of events without taking into account current reality and opinions of the market’s participants. Hundreds of thousands of people time and time again gather to protest. There is a real revolution in the country and we may hear opinions of the majority of our members over the main squares of the country. Today we do not have a moral right to hold such an event».
At the same time, the organizing committee informs that all nominations of the Ukrainian Property Awards 2013 and event programme remain the same.
Massive protest movements in Kiev began on November 21st. They were provoked by government decision to pull back from signing a deal for closer relations with the EU (the association agreement were planned to be signed at the EU summit in Vilnius on November 28-29). Followers of the European Integration gathered to protest in other cities as well. In the night of 29 November people in Kiev were broke up by Special Forces. However, the following day people, who support the idea to change external and internal state policy, gathered again to demand the resignation of the government. Massive protest movements are still running on.
