The best real estate projects of East Europe and Asia 2015

The best EEA real estate projects were recognized in Kyiv, November 26, 2015.

Top projects in 7 nominations were awarded during the Project Awards Gala in Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv, which was the final stage of The EEA Real Estate Forum and Project Awards. The event was hosted by Ukrainian Real Estate Club and EuropaProperty.com.

The winner in each nomination was chosen by professional international jury, represented by members of development, legal, consulting, engineering real estate companies, as well as architects and international investors.

The voting took place in the framework of informal meeting for speakers and jury members on November 25, supervised by methodological partner of the Award – EY.

Five projects have been applied for Office Project of the Year:

- Baku White City Office Building (Baku, Azerbaijan);

- BC Senator (Kyiv, Ukraine);

- IQ Business Center (Kyiv, Ukraine);

- BC Hermes (Minsk, Belarus);

- BC Akademia (Minsk, Belarus).

IQ Business Center was recognized as the best Office Project of the Year. Developer of the project – K.A.N. Development.

Only with one vote gap to be a total winner, Baku White City Office Building was awarded with the Certificate of Excellence though due to the numerous requests of jury members. 

“Without underestimating the merits of Kyiv projects, I would like to distinguish Baku White City, Azerbaijan, which meet the best international codes and standards of architecture. Open layout, no columns, large number of elevators and parking lots.  This is a pioneeering  project in Azerbaijan, certificated according to BREEAM ”, - said Dmitry Sennychenko, Jll Ukraine.

Six projects competed for the Retail Project of the Year:

- Ocean Plaza Shopping Centre (Kyiv, Ukraine);

- Shopping and Entertainment Centre Prospekt (Kyiv, Ukraine);

- Port City Shopping Centre (Lutsk, Ukraine);

- KOKON (Odessa, Ukraine);

- FORUM LVIV (Lviv, Ukraine);

- LUBAVA Shopping Centre (Cherkassy, Ukraine).

The prize was given to FORUM LVIV, the project realized by Multi Development. FORUM LVIV is the first shopping centre in Ukraine, certificated according to BREEAM, and already awarded the prize within Investment & Green Building Awards, hosted by EuropaProperty.com in October.

The longest list of nominees was presented for Retail Development of the Year:

-Blockbuster Mall (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Gorod OK, 2nd Phase (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-LAVINA MALL (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-NEW WAY (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Ocean Mall (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-TSUM (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Galleria Minsk (Minsk, Belarus);

-FABRIKA Shopping Mall (Kherson, Ukraine);

-Lukianivka Mall (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Nikolsky Shopping Center (Kharkov, Ukraine);

-GALLERIA TBILISI (Tbilisi, Georgia);

TSUM Kyiv was recognized as the best project. The developer of the project is ESTA Holding.

“I consider TSUM Kyiv to be a very perspective project, - says Yury Popov, “Tvoya stolica”, Belarus. – “Despite the architecture, design solutions, zoning, allocation of product groups, we can be sure in commercial prospects of the project”.

Residential real estate segment was represented in two nominations.  Nine projects from different cities of Ukraine and Georgia have been applied for Residential Project of the Year:

-Central Park (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Diamond Hill (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-TETRIS HALL (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Obolon Residences (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Grand House Tbilisi (Tbilisi, Georgia);

-Mardi Mont Blanc (Batumi, Georgia);

-Modern House (Batumi, Georgia);

-Richmond (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Residential House in Vake District (Tbilisi, Georgia).

The victory was awarded to Obolon Residences. Developer of the project is Dragon-Ukrainian Properties & Development plc.

Five projects claimed for Large-Scale Residential Project of the Year. The projects were represented in “city within the city” format:

-Park City (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Novopecherskie Lipki (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Boulevard of Fontains (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Semytsvit (Lviv, Ukraine);

Novopecherskie Lipki was recognized as the very best project among all nominees. Developer of the project is UDP.

Mixed-use Project of the Year was chosen among eight nominees:

-Gagarinn Plaza (Odessa, Ukraine);

-GULLIVER (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Kadorr (Odessa, Ukraine);

-Respublika (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Gloria Park (Kyiv, Ukraine);

-Metro City Batumi (Batumi, Georgia);

-RIUS business centre and hotel (Lviv, Ukraine);

-Axis Towers (Tbilisi, Georgia).

GULLIVER was named as the best Mixed-use Project of the Year.

At last, five projects from Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine clamed for Hotel Project of the Year:

-HILTON BATUMI (Batumi, Georgia);

-Holiday Inn Aktau (Aktau, Kazakhstan);

-BEST WEST ERN PLUS Market Square Hotel

Khortitsa Palace, Çàïîðîæüå, Óêðàèíà (Lviv, Ukraine);

-Mercure Tbilisi (Tbilisi, Georgia).

 HILTON BATUMI was recognized as the best one.

Real estate market in Georgia is rather small, but we have a decent hospitality sector, - says Irakli Kilauridze, Colliers Georgia. – “Hotels are operating very good, especially in Tbilisi. Occupancy is about 70%. Batumi market is somewhat weaker, it is a resort city though. Occupancy there is about 50%”.

MetroCityBatumi was honored with a special Award "Innovation of the Year". Developer of the project is Metro Atlas Georgia. KOKON by Arber Fashion Group was awarded as "Reinnovation of the Year".
